This game was produced by T Ward & Co - Paternoster Row, London - It is a question and answer game - Concerned with the planets and probably aimed at education rather than pleasure - The Planets known at the time (Q19) are - "Mercury, Venus, the Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Georgium Sidus; - to which may be added, the newly discovered planets, Vesta, Juno, Ceres and Pallas" - Georgium Sidus is Uranus named after George III by its discover Sir William Herschel who discovered it I 1781. - Vesta was discovered in 1807 Juno in 1804, Pallas in 1802 and Ceres on 1/01/1801 - as these were described as newly discovered the date seemed within ten years ie c 1820- but certainly prior to 1846 when Neptune was discovered
Astronomical Cards - Condition The cards are excellent - no tears, creases or bends - clean - The box has no top by design and is very good Postage / UK 1st Class £ 4.00 / European £ 6.50 / Worldwide £ 8.00GO TO TOP

All the pairs are very interesting and well drawn characters - Mr Beeryman is hanging onto a street light, Mre Beeryman at home waiting, Mr Stager with a hat in his hand whilst Mrs Stager, in a very low cut dress, takes a bow We have never seen this game before or indeed any game by Perry who was a minor playing cards maker in the 1860/1870.
