c1890 Football
This is an early football board game - the ball looks slightly oval but there are 11 players on each team and the positions are football positions, including a goalkeeper. The spectators are wonderfully dressed in top hats. (The section of the supporters has been enlarged and is shown under the board in the larger picture.) A lovely piece of history..
Football Board - Condition - Board only, with three folds, in good condition. Slight wear at folds and slight scuffing.

This game is a nine hole golf game – each hole being a different obstacle- They are well made and very different unlike any other tiddley wink game we have seen. More pictures can be supplied – please ask – but the box lid shows the pieces and the course below is set out in the way
The history of this game is difficult to trace. Games manufacturing was a fringe activity of Britain’s (the makers of toy soldiers) from very early in their history. Games manufacturers naturally turned to the premier figure makers to participate in their games, but Britains produced games of their own, once more following a tradition established in their early toymaking years. (Old Toy Soldiers Newsletter Vol. 6. )
We have seen a number of games with Pealland as the manufacturer with Britain pieces which supports this. There appears to be little documented and only an 1880 catalogue known.
The other games w have seen appear to be made during the period c1910

Tid-Olf – Condition – the lid is missing its sides – rules are on the inside, the box base is complete, all nine obstacles are present and in good condition – no damage – light use
Postage free UK / Europe £3.50 / Worldwide £5.00
