This game is described as a Military Race Game with “Horses that Gallop in a lifelike manner”.
It consists of four horses which are on a wire frame which when pulled make the horses move as though they were galloping.
More/larger pictures are available – please ask if you’d like to see them
The history of this game is difficult to trace. Games manufacturing was a fringe activity of Britain’s (the makers of toy soldiers) from very early in their history. Games manufacturers naturally turned to the premier figure makers to participate in their games, but Britains produced games of their own, once more following a tradition established in their early toymaking years. (Old Toy Soldiers Newsletter Vol. 6. )
We have seen a number of games with Pealland as the manufacturer with Britain pieces which supports this. There appears to be little documented and only an 1880 catalogue known.
The other games we have seen appear to be made during the period c1910

Condition - Point to Point – The game is complete 4 horses and “an automatic self registering winning post – The box lid is repaired with sellotape – base is squashed and missing one side – The horses are very good – a little paint loss – winning post is good – possible missing one flag at one end
Postage / UK Free / Europe £3.50 / Worldwide £4.50
