The cards are interesting and the normal sytle of rebus cards

An Entirely New Pack of Puzzle Cards by a Friend to Youth -
printed by W & T Darton, Holborn Hill London - c1806-1811.
These cards consist of a rebus style puzzle within a large oval frame - with the titles below. Engraved, uncolored, numbered 1-18. The engraving is very detailed and the cards are lovely.

Picture Cards with rhyming riddle caption. These are listed in the British Museum with a date of c 1820. However as one of the cards is of a young Victoria the date would appear to be c1840.
One line of the riddle refers to the picture. The other line just rhymes with the first
ie In the summer rise at five - A place for bees is called a ....
There are 33 cards - they are numbered and the highest is 129. (Believed to be 144 as V&A has the answers to riddle cards that from the description sound to be like these) Although they all have the same patterned backs there is a variation in size and a couple look very foxed.
