These cards list 24 countries with pictures of their national dress. The date of c1790 is based on the names of the countries use and the history of these places
eg Unterwalden was canton of Switzerland until1780 when it became a country
Venice lost its independence in 1797
Otaheite,(was known as Tahiti )
The Helvetic Revolution of 1798 saw the fall of the Ancien Rιgime. Zόrich lost control of the land and its economic privileges, and the city and the canton separated their possessions between 1803–1805
The countries are
America, Bavaria, China, (Denmar)k?, England, France, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Kamschatka, Lepcha, Mexico, Norway, Otaheite, Portugual, Quito, Switzerland, Turkey, Unterwalden, Venice, Wales, X, Youghal, Zurich.

Alphabet of Female Costumes - 24 cards - The cards appear to have been mounted at some time and there are marks from this on the back of the cards, there is some foxing/shading marks on background of some cards, two cards are damaged where the name should be (one starting with X and one ending in K (?Denmark) (cards are large approx 14 by 10 cms) Art work is very delicate. / Box - original with title on box - corners of lid and base splits
