This pack comes with a 16 page write up of Peking and descriptions of the cards enclosed.
The scenes offer a terrific incite to the once secretive city of Peking.
There are scenes also of a harrowing nature, pleased be warned before viewing.
The Boxer Rebellion had been started to shake off the influence of foreign powers regarded by the
Emperor as degrading the image of Imperial China.
Many Boxers were captured but some were executed as a means of pacification to the foreign powers for the deaths of many missionaries and Christian Chinese.
Varies cards/scenes depict - Boxers waiting to be shot. Scene before execution of 15 Boxers. Scene after execution of 15 Boxers. An execution. All not for the feint hearted.
The cards are complete, 52 playing cards plus Joker plus Title card plus booklet.
The condition of the cards is 9/10, can,t see that they have ever been played with, gleaming gold edges.
Two part telescopic brown box with sample card Ace o Hearts, box has a few scuffs.

Printed by Sands & Mc Dougall in Melbourne, these playing cards depict black and white early views of Australia.
The scenes cover all the principle cities and memorable sites.
The complete deck consists of 52 cards plus Joker plus a blank.
The cards are in very good condition and have a brown leaf and matrix back.
The two part telescope box has a few scuffs and knocks.
