The Calendar
playing card series were made by
Waddingtons during the 1970/80/90s.
The pack consists of 52 cards plus 2 jokers.
One side of the cards is a normal pack,
the other side is a calendar, each card showing a week of the year.
Each year the pack also has a new theme;
this pack shows a selection of the backs of cards produced by the
Worshipful Company of makers
of Playing Cards.
This company was founded by charter granted by King Charles I in 1628
to stop the import of playing cards.
In 1792 the company obtained a Livery and the
number of the members of the Livery was limited to 100,
in 1903 it was increased to 150.
Since 1882 a pack had been issued each year,
in more recent times these commentate an event of the year;
a selection of these cards are shown on each week of the calendar.
These cards were never placed on sale to the public
The cards are in mint sealed condition.
