OCB791 Picture Georgian Playing Cards Box – Chinese Style Patterned Top
This box was made c1780 – 1830 – The box has space for six packs of cards inside – it measures 10.5 by 8.5 by 3 inches – The interior is red – The exterior is black with a Chinese style pattern in gold around the sides The top has a raised design with a Chinese Gentleman by a bridge – there is a little damage to two of the pillars of the bridge but otherwise the condition is good – The box itself is a little wrapped so it does shut but not perfectly- Postage Category G

OCB3394 Picture C1860/1880 MAUCHLINE WARE DOUBLE PLAYING CARD BOX - Lovely box in a beautiful colored wood - Seaweed pattern on the two sides, top playing cards and view of Pwllhell - front view of Pwllhell & St Tudwel's Road, Carmarvonshire - Condition is very good - Some small marks on front lid - transfers undamaged- Postage Category 180 90
OCB79 Picture Old Straw Work Playing Card Box
This card box is made of straw work - And we believe it is early, c1860s, - from the cards that were in it – but they could have been added later - It is made of card covered with straw work - It is a two part telescopic style box - With a piece of ribbon to lift the lid off - There is some damage ie missing pieces of the straw work - Which can be seen - There is also, we believe, some restoration at the base, - The brown area is, we believe, not original - But it matches well with the side but differs in style with the top - Any further pictures or details please ask.- Postage Category A

OCB3393 Picture c1870 Double Playing Card Box - Wooden box with almost metallic appearance – Picture of Three Playing Cards on the lid – carved into the wood – Box is approx 6.25 by 4.75 by 1.75 inches – Condition – Box is in very good condition – it looks slightly dirty but this is possibly just the style of the design – No damage – lid fits very well – Bottom has a sort of curvy pattern where we think the varnish run a little- Postage Category 130 65
OCB3399 Picture c1870 DOUBLE PLAYING CARD BOX - Paper Mache - with space for chips/markers etc - Interestingly the card compartments have been metal lined possibly to keep out paper worms in warmer climates - so maybe an export item, - very pretty patterned lid - Japanese Style with flowers – Measures approx 9.00 by 5.75 by 2.00 inches Condition is very good - a little scuffing to the lid (some of the gold dots have rubbed away) - a small nick near the lock - (no key)- Postage Category 240 120
OCB3397 Picture c1870 MAUCHLINE WARE SINGLE PLAYING CARD BOX - Initially used as a cotton box but with secondary use as a card box - one of a series which features scenes from a game of Whist - This one call "Disputed Point" – Box is approx 3.25 by 4.5 by 1.35 inches – Condition – Box is in very good condition – no damage, nicks or knocks picture clear and bright – well fitting lid – inside clean – however I think one short side of the lid has either been repaired or replaced as the wood appears to be a slightly different color at the join – Paper cover base slightly scuffed at edges – no damages- Postage Category 64 32

OCB3398 Picture C1880/90 Art Nouveau Playing Card Box - Wooden (possibly oak) with Enamelled Suit symbols on the lid which lifts off – Box is approx 3.0 by 4.25 by 2.0 inches – Condition – Box is in very good condition – no damage, nicks or knocks – the enamelled suit symbols are very slightly cracked – they are a set of four but not quite central – possibly reglued but maybe always like this – well fitting lid – inside clean- Postage Category 170 85

This item is a lovely lacquered gaming box – measuring 9 by 11 by 2.5 inched the top depicts an exotic bird with the tail feathers highlighted in MOP or oyster shell – the six boxes have beautiful floral decoration, again highlighted in MOP or oyster shell – The box is in excellent condition – no damage but a little wear to some of the decoration on the lid.- Postage Category G

OBB654 Picture 1901 Silver Bridge Box with playing Cards
Hallmarked London 1901 - This item is a beaten silver box 4.5 by 3.0 by 2.25 inches - The box is beautifully made - The lid lifts up to reveal bridge score pads - in the lid a Bridge Booklet - The front drops down to reveal two packs of playing cards - The cards are wide - by Goodall & Son Limd - And of the same period as the box.
The box is excellent – no dents or knocks. The silk lining is v good but there is a split on the silk in the lid where the booklet is held. The cards are v good – one lightly creased (scanned) the rest excellence – There are only two score pads – both with silver pencils (we cannot see a hallmark on these) – They have both been used but there are still sheets left. The pads have identical details at the back. They are however slightly different in color and the pencils are slightly different.- Postage Category C

OBW3431 Picture C1930s ART DECO TRUMP INDICATOR - This item is an interesting design - The overall measurement are 6.5 inches by 4.25 inches - The design is simply black on cream - The trump suit is selected by turning the circular disc to show the suit required - The NT symbol is Red and Black - The material is bakelite - There is a lid that lifts off - with an area to store two decks of playing cards - one of the internal pieces to stop the cards moving is missing-(obviously not visible from the outside) Otherwise this item is in excellent condition - no scratches or marks- Postage Category C 190 95
