c1868 FRENCH & ENGLISH HISTORICAL LOTO CARDS - CARTES DE LOTTO AVEC L'HISTORIE ANGLAIS EN FRANCAIS - - This item is 23 double sided lotto cards - One side has the normal numbers on it - The other side has nine columns number as centuries XI-XIX Siecle - All the narrative is in French - With pictures of English historical characters - Including King Arthur, Wellington, Elizabeth, Robert Peel - (Mort d'Arthur, Duc de Wellington, Elisabeth, et Sir Robert Peel) - We presume this was a method of teaching history and French at the same time - The latest event on any of the cards is - Lord Palmerston mort en 1865 - (Lord Palmerston died in 1865) - The cards are edged in different colors - Six of red, maroon, green and 5 blue. - The cards are in excellent condition - no damage - Odd scuffed corners but no bends or damage.- Postage Category B |

c1880s THE SPEAKING TOYBOOK ABC ALPHABET ANIMAL BOOK - Animals Noises by puling string - - This item is a book that consists of preface and 7 double pages - The preface has a poem on the left and the following on the title page - "The Speaking Toybook reproducing - The Voices of the Cock, the Goat, the Cat, the Bird, the Lamb and the Cuckoo - Dedicated to the children by one who loves them" - Six of the pages have a picture on one page, text on the other - And an arrow pointing to a tab which when pulled makes the sound of the animal - The centre page has a alphabetic poem - The book measures 7.25 by 8.5 by 2 inches - The book is in very good condition - here are odd stains to the cover but no damage - The pages are all complete undamaged - a little duty with age but still v bright and colourful - Of the six string pulls that make the animal noise - two are missing - The rest make the appropriate noise when pulled - The string pulls have ivory tops to easy the pulling.- Postage Category |

1900 Boxed Set Double Nine Dominoes Pixie Box Probably English – Wooden Dominoes - This item is an early wooden set of children’s dominoes - This is a double nine set – ie 55 dominoes from 0-0 to 9-9 - Usually found made from ebony & bone - Not so common made in wood with paper covering - The dominoes are in v good condition - A little dirty but not torn or damaged - The box is also v good - The sliding top is missing the raise piece of wood at the pull end - It has a lovely picture of pixies or elves playing in a set of dominoes - The picture is a little dirty and a little rubbed but good - The base of the box is fine - It is made of white wood stained a dark re - Box measures approx 11 by 2.5 by .5 inches - Dominoes measure 1.9 by .9 inches- Postage Category C |

c1900 CHILD'S PAPER PARACHUTES - BOLIDE - Made in France by Brevete SGDG - Label printed by Imp. Chambrelent & Croix - Paris - This item is called Bolide - Parachute - Made by Brevete SGDG - The same details appear on the inside of the box lid - Additionally the information on the lid states - "en France et a l'Etranger" - "in France and aboard" - This item consists of three paper parachutes - One is complete and appears not to have been used - Two are missing the small ring at the top - One has a tear - but is complete - The paper depth is 9 inches - the stick is 12 inches - The "parachute thrower" is v good - The original rubber band is in the original bag - But it has perished over time so would need replacing - There are also two rings which maybe used as part of the launching process - The idea is to launch the parachute using the Parachute Thrower - The item is boxed - rules in French, English and Spanish on the lid - Together with a lovely artist's impression of children playing with this - Probably meant to represent set in the Twilliere Gardens in Paris - The box is large approx 14 by 17 inches - Has a couple of small tears on the sides and one damaged corner - There is a little scuffing on the lid- Postage Category |

Game of Boy Scouts Het Padvinderspel - 1920c This is similar to The Game of Boy Scout by The Parker Games Co Ltd - London - there is no manufacture on this box - - This deck consists of 50/50 cards measuring 4.5 by 7cms - There are five sets of 10 cards - Representing five patrols - Bull, Wolf, Owl, Lion and Curlew - The backs of the cards depict a scout with the flags - They are v good condition - lightly played with - A few cards have light crease - The cards are in a two part box which is complete - The game was made for the Netherlands. - Rules are in German as are the cards - But it is identical to the version by Parker Brother - The rules are interesting a one example shows "Wolf" as opposed to "Wolven" - Supporting the idea that this was a German version of an American game- Postage Category A |
