c1904 Cycling Board Game – Early Bicycles Made in Bavaria by JW Spears – Designed in England This item is a board game - Which is a race game for cyclists - It is in excellent condition and consists of - A playing board – mint – illustrated with pictures of bikes and cycling hazards - Four flat cast iron playing pieces – three represent gentlemen and one a lady - Dressed in Edwardian Clothes – all complete and hand painted - 27 playing cards – three for each symbol – needed to pass certain obstacles - All in excellent condition - The rules are in the lid of the box and complete - The game is boxed (the label on the board matching the box) - Showing an Edwardian Lady by her bicycle - With the words - ”Cycling A Fascinating Game by Jap” - The box is excellent – complete – no damage - The bottom of the box has wonderful period advertising on it - Including the Cycling game itself - The game was in the Spear’s catalogue of 1904- Postage Category D |

"Shunto" - The Great Railway Game - F H Ayers – c 1920 Made by F H Ayers - Patented by Roberts - This item is a large box measuring 9.5 by 17 inches approx (closed) - Which opens out to a railway track measuring 32 by 9 inches - There are 8 tracks and there are "points" to change track on each one - There are also two trains each consisting of - A green engine, brown section, eight red carriages numbered 1-8 - One has only seven (as there is one carriage missing) - There are two pieces of wood - used to move the trains along - The pieces are v good - no damage - just odd scuffs - The track is very good - all "points" work and are complete and undamaged - The box lid fits into the base by means of two wooden dowells - one is partly missing - The box is good - complete - a little scuffed -green painted wood - The label is complete apart from the border at top left hand corner - It is a little scuffed and grubby - The label is colourful and depicts trains in a siding - "Shunto" in on one truck - "R & Co", "Roberts", "N & Co Ltd" appear on three trucks - "S & Co" and "GER" are on another train - "GNR" is on a third train - The box also has on it - "Roberts Patent Nos 18807/19 & 14983/20 - "Shunto " - The Great Railway Game - F H Ayers Ltd - Manufacturers, London"- Postage Category X |
